Just Can't Read a Newspaper !!!

Does any of you feel the same about Newspaper? I mean I have tried like million times over to start reading a newspaper on a regular basis, like the people say, “ It becomes a habit and then you just can’t go one day without your morning paper”, I have been longing for this particular habit to come to me but it never has. Even now I have Time of India kept next to me and I doing all other non-productive things to just create more distance between me and that paper and then again at some point I feel like I should start reading it, now being all this said I think I should tell you that I aspire to become a journalist and I am sure you all just stifled a laugh there, I mean a journalist who cant get herself to read a Newspaper? You must be kidding me… but well… that just me and honestly I am not proud of this thing.
So how many of you feel the same about newspapers?? And now I think I better get myself atleast started with the first page.. but again the first page says that the PM hints at a fuel price rise.. now do you really need such depressing and tension giving news in the morning? But again I cant blame the newspaper it’s the over all country which is surrounded with depressing news and if there isn’t any then our dear government just comes up with something so add upon the miseries of the common man. There is a hike in the bus and train fares since yesterday now the poor will just start walking to their destination and give it a year or two more everyone will be on road walking to their destination because petrol then would be just a luxury item for the rich.  Other news on the first page says that gold pushed `30,000 mark as the economy staggers, Just wow!!!

Evolution of a New Language

People esp the teenagers these days have started a new type of language or “slang” to be more appropriate, they cut short on every word and a new type of a font where symbols, numbers and alphabets are clubbed together to type a sentence. I have actually met a kid who write in our everyday sms language and I was really amazed to see that the kids these days are getting used to these type of a language. There was seminar in my college a couple months back where the editor of Bombay Times has come and he mentioned the same thing, he said that 10years down the line Newspapers will be sent as text messages in the SMS language “wid evrythin ct shrt” and that will be the type of language people will understand and use… well you can imagine the scenario then, people these days are already avoiding books, we don’t find many students who read books or are that interested in the literature but we can’t really accept this, can we???
Yes the cut short language is useful when you have to type something real fast etc, but not always. And even if you use it everytime for sending text messages because of the word limit. But these days people have started using such language thinking that its cool. They wont use the normal font or speak with the normal accent because they feel its ordinary or worst outdated. Why is there this sudden “wanna be” attitude coming down on us. I mean I see people in my college doing this and what I really want to do is go buy them a dictionary so that they can atleast get the spellings right and start writing the full words!!!!

Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya - Movie Review

Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya...
Just saw the movie “Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya”, and to be honest I liked it.. I can even say that I loved it. It’s the kind of movie which you watch when you just want to pass sometime or just get in touch with your romantic side. And what a change for audience with this movie because all the movie releasing these days are not the typical bollywood romance types and people like me who love they typical bollywood masala movie miss such movies. So people who love bollywood movies, you gotta watch this movie!!!
Rietesh and Genelia both are just adorable throughout the movie, genelia perfectly suits her bubbly character and Rietesh well he just made me fall more in love with him ( sad that he is married, but happy that he married Genelia they compliment eachother ) you cant ignore the music here as well.. the music is awesomely done by Sachin Jigar.
            So well go watch now!!!!

Bollywood Remakes

With the new trend of movie remakes that’s going on in Bollywood these days.. question such as the justice done to the old movies or that if it’s the right thing to do etc etc come up.. If you ask me .. my answer is whats wrong in remaking a movie?? I mean you are making it clear that it’s a remake that you are remaking the movie and making it more apt for the modern age..why should there be any controversy about it?? Its not like you are copying it and then not giving the original movie any credit.

Don was initially made when I was not even born and I never really saw the movie, ofcourse I was aware that its an awesome movie and a must watch but somehow maybe due to the generation gap or I didn’t want to watch old movie I never saw it.. same thing with sholay (I still haven’t watched sholay in one go, always saw it in bits and parts) it happens because those movie never connected to me. But when Ram Gopal Verma ki AAG was due release I had this sudden desire to watch the original sholay, and then RGV ki Aag failed miserably that just supported the fact that sholay is an all time classic. Same with Don, I had never seen the original Don but I was super excited to watch Farhan Akhtar’s Don because it connected to me.. being a sharukh fan I was all set to watch it first day first show.. and now same will happen with Agneepath.. I am already downloading the original Agneepath so that I know if I should appreciate or criticize the new Agneepath.

But all said and done, I am always for the Remakes of the movie… sometimes I wonder that my kids wont grow up with cartoons like Tom and Jerry or noddy or mickey and Donald or duck tales or our Disney princess snow white, Cinderella, rapunzell etc…and it upsets the hell out of me.. but if they remake it and make it more apt for the generation next maybe they’ll like it maybe they will grow up with just the right cartoons and bed time stories and not the silly dhishum dhishum cartoons they watch these days or the video games they are addicted to these days

Flash Mob at CST Station

"Rang De Basanti" song started playing at CST railway station.. and a girl just started dancing to the tune and before we know it 100s of people joined in and danced for four and a half minute.  This is such a novel idea just dancing together with people who you don't know personally but maybe share the same 5.33pm thane fast. Also this Flash Mob concept shows that anything can happen in Mumbai... also the bonding that can be seen between the citizens is really needed. Sometimes when everything is just routine and no extra spice to it we tend to start cribbing about each and everything around but something like this that happens really just makes you feel good inside though i wasn't there for the dance but just looking at this video makes me feel good, at one point of time i also had tears in my eye :) ... it somehow shows me that little bit of Mumbai Spirit which i had  criticized a bit in my previous blog post and honestly i somehow am sad about the fact that i was no where attached to any of this.

I am a die hard bollywood movie fan, and you see these kind of things in Karan Johar movies, where the hero / heroine starts singing about her new found love and starts dancing and everyone just somehow joins in and everything looks so sweet and goodie good..i always wondered does this really happen? I mean 100s of people dancing together on the road except of Ganpati Visarjan, Holi and when India wins the World Cup. And this incident is just picked out from my dream also the song is very close to we... i just freaking wish i was there!!!!

I also want to thank all those people who did this Flash Mob, its real hardwork guys to do so much and also get the permission for all this... and you guys did a wonderful job :)
