Mumbai

Today I though to writing about Mumbai. And now I am stuck, I don’t know what to write about this city. I mean to say there is soo much in this city, so many things all happening at once. Just look outside your window, u will find different people doing soo many different things, there will be school kids going to school or coming back from there. There will be office going people who will be rushing for bus or train to get to their office in time. There will be college going kids who some maybe rushing to college while some just bunking and roaming around the city. There would be some beggars, waiting for the signal to go red, so they will go and beg for some money again.

In Mumbai you will find all the grades of the society, there are rich there are poor and there are the normal mumbaikars, middle class people who live their life freely. Yes there are tensions about finance and all but they are happy in their own way.

If we go to see from south Mumbai, there is a two extreme types of localities living there there is colaba, cuff parade, marine drive where its one of the most sophisticated area in Mumbai, then there is girgaum where there are people who are middle class and still have a potential in them. They are happy the way they are. They live in a small flat, or rather chawl.but content and happy with what they have. Coming a bit north there is dadar, one prominent area in Mumbai, u can say a the hub of Mumbai. And then going further north there Is bandra. You will find many film stars residing there. And then further north there is andheri, borivali and all, here you will find people who travel in train everyday, and their life is depended on the morning 9’oclock fast train to churchgate. They travel in trains everyday, no matter men or women the rush is the same and you have to fight for a place for youself.

But with all this hustle bustle and all the busy life everyone has. They are still happy with it, there is still the same humanity intact in this city. People will help you even if you are a stranger to them. They say that this city is filled with people with no heart. But being here and living in this very own city for so long I strongly deny it. It’s a city where even though there is no time for eachother, people still find ways to be there for eachother when they need it.

My take on .... EDUCATION!

Being a student, every student will say that they hate their syllabus, and why would they not hate it? Is there any need for a written exam for the subject like personal training and e.v.s ? don’t not EVS and PT mean just physical development and common knowledge about nature and surrounding?
Next talking about maths, on an avegare, a common man uses basic math like addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. Then what is the use of learning all those formulas, theorems and solve all those problems who gives you not only stress but also results in students failing and then loosing hope that they can do something good in life. Why cant they keep some special subjects related to different profession like doctor, engineer, lawyer etc etc. so that, if a student wants to become a lawyer, he will choose the subjects which will actually help him to get through his dream, same will go for the doctors and other profession. I know this has loop holes, like the student going for lawyer will know just about his profession and will have no idea about other basic knowledge, well what is if I say that, let there be normal education till std 7th so that every student will get equal education and knowledge, then from 8th onwards people are quie smart enough to decide what they want to be so they can follow their dream. Let the students choose what they want to do. There is no use of studying the samething till graduation and then after that again take up a course of like years together and then get employed in your 30s with the lowest salary and then wait for the promotion. No doubt India is still going through the unemployment phase, and major portion of the population is soo dependent.

just a thought

Women are always blamed to be careless and selfish and also to some extend never understands a man. There are several jokes on women like how after getting married or by having a girlfriend a man’s life turns into hell. But why don’t guys try to understand the girl in their life.
What a girl wants in a little respect form the guy in her life and yes lots of love from him. And in return she gives you hell lot of things, she cares for you, looks after you, and also acts like a mother sometime. And this all comes naturally to her. She just loves treating her hubby or her boyfriend like her kid and which actually I think cause guys are like kids. Even though they grow up and are matured enough but they do have some childlike thing in them which best comes out when they are with their mother or else their wife/ girlfriend. A girl will never ask something which she knows her guy cant afford she will always understand him with all her heart. And she just expects the same back. Just that she wont say it until he crosses her line of patience.
For a girl her love of life is very important, her love comes before anything else in her life. Including her friends. But for a guy his love comes after everything else. That’s the biggest difference between a girl and a guy.

Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone In Short.

Harry potter in brief

J.K.Rowling, I don’t guess she needs any introduction anymore. She is one women who has fans all over the world of all the age groups just because of her writing. Coming to think of her the book that she wrote was just a thought that had came to her mind when she was once traveling to kings cross station. And then she elaborated it and wrote in a beautiful manner and we all know the master piece she has created.

We as kids grew up listening and reading to bedtime stories like cindrella, sleeping beauty, goldilocks etc etc. But I bet that when we will grow up and get kids, we will tell our children bedtime stories about harry potter.

The way she has written the story. You don’t feel bored at any point of time. Each and every charater mentioned in the story has some or the other reason of being in existence. Everyone has some important role to play either to solve the hidden secrets or to get ride of the dark lord.

The story goes this way.
Its this that, harry is living with his uncle Vernon and aunt petunia, they have a son. Petunia is harry’s mother’s sister. she detested her because it was her sister who was selected to go to Hogwarts and learn magic. She hated her thereafter, and so she generally used to take that anger out on harry, harry was like a servant at their place. The first encounter with harry to know that he is a wizard was when, he goes to zoo with his uncle aunt and their son Dudley . where he gets to know that, he can talk to snakes.
It was harry’s 11th birthday when hagrid who was a wizard as well came to take harry to tell him the news that, he has been off age to join Hogwarts now. Harry didn’t knew what Hogwarts is, he didn’t knew that he is a wizard and that his parents were a wizard as well till the time he met hagrid. His aunt had told them that his parents were dead in a car accident, which was not true. His parents were dead in a duel with the dark lord, who was proud of him being a wizard and had bad intensions in this mind. He was making people join him in his bad intention by choice and force both and it was harry’s parents who were against him, and that’s why they were killed by him. But harry survived his curse cause his mother had died to protect harry, so the curse reversed and hit voldemort instead of harry. And voldemort vanished that day. But not completely everyone knew that he was going to come back one day.

Hagrid takes harry to his wizarding world. Harry there comes to know that his parents had left him a hell lot of things. His admission in Hogwarts was decided since the time he was born. His parents had left him a huge sum of wizarding money. Harry started off really nice. He met two of his really nice friends there. Ronald Weasley and Hermoine Granger. Ron had 6 other siblings and he had his roots in the wizrding world. Whereas hermoine had her parents as dentist in the muggle ( non magic flocks ) world. But she was brilliant and loved to read books and collect information. She was a hard nut to crack.

Once when harry had his detention. And was forced to go to the forest just outside the school ground. His job there was to find a unicorn there, who was wounded. Hagrid told him that, there is someone in the forest who kill unicorn and drink their blood. Drinking unicorn blood will save you from death even if you are an inch from death. But the life you will get will be a half life and that too cursed. So in order to find the unicorn they go in different directions. Harry finds the half dead unicorn and a man in cloak whoz face was not to be seen drinking the unicorns blood. When the hooded man sees harry approaching him he gets up and tries to attack harry, but just then a centaur, centaur is animal who is part man and part horse. He had his face like a man and then his body is like a horse and he walks on 4 legs two are his hands and 2 of his hind legs. The hooded man gets away as the centaur comes to save harry. The centaur tells him that there is a secret in school at the moment, harry knew what that secret was. There was philosophers stone in school at the moment. It was a secret between Dumbledore, the school headmaster and a very intelligent wizard and his friend Nicholas flamel. Nicholas flamel had founded the philosophers stone. The one who has the stone will never die.. Harry got the mystery behind the hooded man and the philosophers stone. The hooded man was no one else but voldemort. And he wanted the stone so that he could get back to power and continue his evil plans again.

As a matter of fact Voldemort was afraid of Dumbledore. So one thing was for sure that till the time Dumbledore is there in the school voldemort was not going to enter school to steal the stone. Harry once gets to know that Dumbledore has gone out of the school to the ministry of magic. Harry knows that this was the time when voldemort will try and get that stone.

The stone was kept in a hidden chamber. the chamber was protected by various magic. Harry hermoine and ron had to go through all that to get to the room where the stone was kept. When he reached there, he was shocked to find professor quirrel there. Professor quirrel was his defence against the dark arts teacher. He used to stammer a lot and used to panic on smallest of things. But indeed that all was just a show. He was actually working for voldemort, voldemort was inside him. Voldemort was living with the help of his body as a parasite.

Professor quirrel was unsuccessful in finding the stone because, the stone had its own magic imposed on it. It was belived that he only person who can get that stone was the person who wants to save it and not used it for himself, except the maker.
Quirrel forces harry to help him get the stone. He tells him to look in the mirror of erise. Mirror of erise, is smething that if you see in it. You will see your deepest desire ie if you want to be the world’s richest man and if that is your deepest desire then you will see your self as the world’s richest man in that mirror, and only you can see what you want no one else will be able to see what you desire. So when harry looks in the mirror he sees his reflection taking out the philosophers stone from him pocket. Harry slowly touches his pocket and he feels the philosophers stone indeed inside his pocket. He gets it cause he wanted to save it and not use it for himself.

There is duel in there for voldemort tries to snatch the stone from harry, but the good wins over the bad and quirrel dies in the duel and so does voldemort vanishes once again… but everyone knows that he will come back once again.

60 Earth Hour

On the 28Th of March from 8:30pm local time, switch off your chargers, computer, micro wave, fan, air conditioner, television etc etc…everything!

For the first time in the history, every individual no matter their age, qualification, religion, race have an opportunity to help for the betterment of our dear earth. People are requested to switch off their lights and everything. Its something like you are requested to show your support for our mother earth. If you switch off your lights means you are opposing global warming and if you leave the lights on means you are supporting global warming.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

So just get away from that computer and television for an hour and keep away from that airconditioner for an hour, experience an hour in natural wind and in a candle light. It will be soo beautiful.

Common guys, we don’t get much time to take care of our nature in our normal life, we have become so addicted to electrical appliance, cars and air conditioners that we hardly care for the increase in global warming… “ why should we care?”, is what you think, but if everyone thinks the sameway how will this end? We save money for our childs education and future, but are u sure your child will be able to live that much? Counting the amout of global warming we are creating I don’t think there will be enough natural resources for our kids to leave a healthy life.

This is our time people, wake up! An hour without light is not that difficult.

Prostitution!

I was reading a book, where its written that the hero goes to a prostitute and falls in love with her and then eventually gets married to her in end. This is not a new concept you will find the same thing in many other novels and loads of other movies. They always show that these sex workers are good natured and that it’s the circumstance that forces them to do such things.
But do we really take that into account in real life? People tend to look at these people like some bloody good for nothing people in the locality. If we think on it, it is because of prostitution that girls and ladies are able to live without fear. If not prostitution, the number of rapes would have been high. Its like if the people would have not got satisfied by some prostitute they would have hunted down innocent girls in the locality. It would have got difficult for girls to be out of the house at night, or even go to school or college alone.
Come to think of it, I don’t guess that the sex workers are doing this with their will, its something like there is no other way out to earn their bread and butter and that’s why they have to do this. They do threat the fear of getting dieses like AIDS, but “its better to die with a dieses tomorrow than to die with hunger today” is what they feel.
