Day 1 was so longgg.. I mean really! If days could feel so long without him I wonder how 2 years are going to turn out. It wasn’t even like we weren’t in touch; we were constantly in touch sharing every small aspect of day. I realized that now that we were apart wewere sharing more about the happening of the day compared to the time when he was here.
Still haven’t got used to this feeling. My brains still makes plans and then realize that he is not here. I tried Google hangout but something is off with the connection and the video chat lags a lot, have downloaded Skype but I am not really very familiar with it. It is scary how much we are dependent on technology now. I wonder how people in olden days handled long distance, staying apart for days and months with nothing but just occasional letters to communicate, it must be difficult.
After being together for 6 years and 11 months with lots of ups and downs we have entered a new phase, just one month before our 7 years anniversary. 7 years!!! Wow that a long time! He ismoviefor work for 2 years, and as scary as it sounds I want to believe that this will only make us stronger.
It is easy to be in love with someone who you can meet everyday, it is equally difficult to love someone who is practically not there with you physically. I knew he was planning to leave soon, I just didn’t know it would be so quick! We hardly got 2 days notice and he had to leave. The feeling is just sinking in yet, I got up knowing he is not in the same city as I am anymore. My brains are still not okay with this idea. It had become a routine to plan the day and then see if I could see him in the evening, I did that today as well and then remember that he is gone.
I am not exactly sad, I know that this is best for our future, his future to be exact. It is just difficult and scary! Very very scary.
I have seen people breakup in a long distance relationship, I have seen people cheat in a long distance relationship and that is something that I really hope I don’t have to deal with.
I was devastated and very upset last year when the event first happened in the city. I so wanted to go, I tried everything to get my hands on the tickets but somehow I was just not destined to go there. It was a feeling that something you want is happening so close to your house and still you can’t go. A friend had also suggested gate crashing the event, but that was impossible right?
A similar fate followed this year, before I knew it the tickets were sold out, didn’t win anything in all the contests that my favorite YouTubers were hosting. It was again so close to my house that it really felt irritating that I was not going. Then one of my friend told me about one contest that this lady was hosting on twitter, it was a lazy afternoon and I decided to try my luck one last time. I even messaged him that I don’t really think I’ll win anything. The contest began, I answered all the questions and at the end of it all I got a tweet from her saying that I won!!!
I checked, then double checked and then triple checked if this was really happening. Details were exchanged and boom! therewas a couple ticket in my inbox. Upon reaching the venue we realized that we had actually bagged a Special Guests tickets and that we were sitting upfront! It really was a dream come true.
In all this excitement I had almost missed on one little email sitting right in the bottom; it was an invite to the YouTube Creators Academy which was happening on the day after the Fan Fest. The mail mentioned that all the YouTubers (also the ones I was star struck by) were going to attend this event. The Creators Academy was super good! I’ll do a different post on that.
Kehte hain agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho ... to puri kainath usse tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai
Well what can I say? Mr. Shahrukh Khan was indeed right! After a year my wish came true, after a year something that I really wanted was turned into reality.
The fest was amazing! all the performances and acts were so amazingly planned out and it really was an experience!
I even vloggedat the event, Please check out my video
It is such an abstract thing isn’t it? Happiness? When I sat down to describe happiness I ended up with saying “It is something that makes you happy”, that didn’t exactly define happiness correctly right? Then I started telling about things that makes me happy which made me realize what makes me happy doesn’t necessarily make others happy as well. Happiness is subjective, that’s one thing I learnt from it. Is happiness getting what you want or is that being selfish? Maybe I am going to be forever at loss for words to describe Happiness.
I turned to Google to find out what the intelligent minds think of Happiness.
“For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.” ―Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hmm.. That makes sense but who are we kidding? When we are angry all you can think about is how to deal with the situation at hand. We are far from being sane enough to think of this quote.
“Seven Deadly Sins
Wealth without work Pleasure without conscience Science without humanity Knowledge without character Politics without principle Commerce without morality Worship without sacrifice.” ―Mahatma Gandhi
Wise man with his wise words! This is so very accurate. What is wealth if it is not your hard earned money? What is wealth if it comes from the poor? What is wealth if it is not ethical? I don’t want to point fingers but wouldn’t it be nice if the people in power actually understand this?
Pleasure without conscience, talk about all the wrong doing happening in the society these days. We have reached a stage where if a stranger is being nice to you, you immediately start doubting that stranger and try to find the hidden agenda. We are getting cynical as the day pass.
I like technology, I don’t feel complete if I don’t have my phone in my hand, the house looks empty if my laptop is not on and somehow most of the conversation happens via technology. Although it is all fun and entertainment and convenience the thought of artificial intelligence terrifies me. A Robot who can actually pass as a Human? I mean how anyone can be at peace with that information. At a recent seminar that I attended, a panelist pointed out that back in 2000 when we had simple Nokia Phones which were used just to make calls it would have been difficult to imagine that by 2015 we would have the entire world on our phones. We always knew that type of technology was on its way but didn’t know that it was so close to reality. Taking the same thought forward he asked if we could tell what kind of technology we would be dealing with in 2080, we all were stumped!
Knowledge without character - We have educated men raping girls, we have well to do families asking for dowry, what more could I say.
If we really avoid the above seven sins that Gandhi mentioned, do you think we would indeed be happy? http://CokeURL.com/96jnc
It was a particularly gloomy day and I was in a much grumpier mood. With nothing planned for the rest of the day the morning felt slow and dragged. It was just one of those days where you want something good to happen to make you believe that your life is not as sad as you think it is.
She was chatting with a friend/crush, she wasn’t very sure about what is happening or what is the current status of the relationship with him. She hoped for something good to happy (Like him asking her out or something) but life isn’t that easy, is it? This failure in her love life was another thing that was keeping her mood grumpy. She was sure that she was making it obvious that she likes him, then why isn’t he saying anything? She mentioned that she needed to out somewhere and that she was bored home, he immediately asked her to think of a place to go. She was in no mood to come up with a plan and thus asked him to do the honors. He said we could go to starbucks and chill there for a while. She agreed and they decided to meet in an hour. He picked her up, the thing that she liked was that he made sure to pick and drop her every time! Like really every time. Isn’t that just cute?
As decided, they met and went to starbucks. She likes this place, it’s huge and has a very earthy feel to it. They sat down at a table and she liked how he sat down next to her and not opposite her. The conversation was never ending, they could actually speak about anything under the sun and she loved that, basically she just loves talking. Hours flew past and they decided to leave. As they reached the car he asked what she wants to do next, she was surprised, she thought this was it. Apparently it wasn’t, he wanted to spend some more time and she wanted that too. They decided to go to Marine Drive completely forgetting that it was a bright sunny afternoon and that it would be extremely hot there, they realized it upon reaching there. Five minutes in the sun and they realized they have to leave unless they plan to get a sunstroke.
They googled about placed nearby and found that there was a park which was adjoining the Sea, by the looks of it seemed that the park would have a great view. So they headed there. The park really was wonderful, lots of trees, some ducks and birds that they couldn’t recognize, some older people sitting in groups and discussing their life and a few fitness freaks jogging and exercising. They decided to walk for a while, they came across a part where there a few benches facing the sea. It really was an amazing view. They decided to sit there and watch the sunset and there they were sitting #together facing the sea watching the sunset in silence. She liked how even the silence between them was comforting.
Ladies, how do you feel during that time of the month? I am sure it’s not exactly something enjoyable. I was talking to a 40 something lady and she shared that when she was my age talking about periods or PMS was not so easy, even amongst girls. It was taboo of sorts. She was actually surprised to witness how causally we girls talk about it now. We don’t even shy away from letting people know that we are PMSing and thus mood swings are to be expected. However such is not life everywhere, even in today’s world.
Couple of days back I got to know about the ENDTHE RED STAIN initiative, here’s a short brief about them -
We are raising awareness on rural women menstrual hygiene with our initiative "END THE RED STAIN". 88% women in rural India cannot afford sanitary napkins 81% rural women resort to unsterilised cloth, sawdust, leaves 30% girls in rural India have already dropped out of school after menstruation
The story behind it:
Mrs. Bharati Idate has been producing high-quality, compostable and affordable sanitary napkins called ‘Care Taker’ for rural women in Maharashtra especially post delivery for over a decade. She lives in a famine stricken village called Vita, in Sangli district of Maharashtra and has founded the Bharati Mahila Audyogik Sahakari Sanstha Limited.
The initiative got my attention immediately; imagine if you have to go through your periods without the sanitary pads! Honesty I can’t even imagine how tough that would be and to believe that certain women are already living that life is horrifying.
ABP Mazha, Maharashtra Times and DNA has covered her story to make her endeavor known to many in Maharashtra and help her to raise the desired funds to help many other women like her. The links to the coverage are as follows:
