And Chillies, Mahim

Rocky and Mayur have ventured out to explore food from all parts of India and curate videos on Askme.com  I'm contributing mypart by relishing my favorite dishes at And Chillies and sharing my views with you all!

A friend and I wanted to go have some good food but none of us wanted to go very far. He suggested that we go this new place in Mahim. And there we were ready to hog our way.
I liked the place instantly. They have a bar on the ground floor and more sitting space above. The interior is classy and you would love to sit and enjoy your meal.

We ordered

Peachy Fresh Mocktail
It’s Peach blended with coconut, apple juice with vanilla.
It had a very heavy apple flavor which worked for me. I am not a very peach fan but decided to try this out anyway and didn’t regret the decision.

Japanese Yaki Tori Chicken
Thai style wok tossed Chicken with diced onion, basil and chillies.

My friend thought it was too burnt but I liked it. It looked so yummy when it arrived. I believe once the food looks delicious, half your work is done there itself.

Teriyaki Prawns
Teriyaki sauce seasoned with soy, ginger and honey.

LOVED THIS DISH! It was prawns, whats’s  not to like? Add this delicious sauce whichjust added to the entire thing.

Mee Goreng – One Bowl Meal
Spicy Malaysian noodles wok tossed with fresh vegetables in sweet soya sauce.

After all of the above we were half full thus, decided to go for the one bowl meal instead of ordering various things. It was enough for two. Noodles with delicious sauce and chicken and we were more than happy! :D

Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Icecream
Need I say more? Perfect way to end the perfect meal! :D

Healthy Food = Healthy Living

Although I am not someone who has a very healthy lifestyle or food habits. I at least keep trying my best to do something healthy in my day, be it as small has opting not to eat chips and opting for a banana instead. I know you would say that it’s not enough, yes, I am aware of that but at least I avoided all those calories that the chips would have given me.

When it comes to dieting, losing weight or getting fit I am of a strong belief that it should be something which is natural and sustainable. If I am doing something and I know that I can’t do that for life then I would rather not do it. Like giving up certain food just so that I don’t get fat, thanks butno thanks, I won’t give up any food just so I can lose weight. The thought of giving up something for life is something I can’t take. Same goes for all the gyms and crash diets, the name says it all – CRASH DIET! It’s just going to CRASH you!

Look at our grandparents aren’t they healthy even now? A major reason for that is that they have had a lot of healthy food earlier in their life, when none of these junk food and fast food was around. We are so used to eating outside thanks to our busy schedule, lifestyle and a lot of other factors that we have really stopped making sure that we eat are daily intake of veggies and healthy food.

Healthy food helps in Weight Management, gives a lot of energy without making your feel drowsy, obviously the energy you get helps you get more work done, constipation and other digestion related issues are kept at bay, beautiful skin and overall health. Now I am sure that when we compare healthy and unhealthy food, healthy food wins! And wins with a big margin! And I am sure that you already knew that, then why do we succumb to unhealthy food? Is it the lack of motivation to eat healthy? Or is it that we don’t want to stay healthy? None of this right? Then what is it? I know I am asking too many questions but isn’t it time that we really figure out what is that that is pushing us towards unhealthy things? And what can we do to stop it?

Biryani360 – Review

I liked the concept of Biryani360 the minute I heard about it. They make healthy Biryani with less oil, lots of vegetables and light as opposed to the general Biryani which is very heavy and so very high on calories!

They have an online ordering system which is very convenient and easy to navigate. They don’t have a lot of options as of now, just two – Veg and Non-Veg. I obviously chose the non-veg option. The unique thing is that, they have time slots. So you choose what time slot you want the food delivered and they’ll do it accordingly. This is so that they get enough time to freshly prepare your order.

I got my Biryani delivered within the time slot that I had selected. The packaging was good as well; it came in a properly divided plastic tray which made sure that all the things stayed in their compartments.  It came with Raita, so that was good. All in all I really liked the concept and I am sure I would order it again soon.

They also take party orders, in case you are interested in that.

Biryani360 is not your typical Biryani. It has less oil, is light, fragrant and features no garam masala. So keep an open mind when digging in! Expect a traditional Biryani and you'll be disappointed. Expect something different and you'll love it.
